I've had Bissell vacuums all my life and then more expensive Shark models. When I upgraded my Shark vacuum 3 years ago I was blown away. The biggest annoyance is the spread of dirt, hair, debris, etc. on hard floors. Also, the Sharks' traction hindered more than it helped, kicking and struggling, and barely clearing with any backward movement. It also didn't reliably pick up things along walls, edges, trim, etc. Leave hair on steps, corners and carpets. All in all, it was a significant amount of money squandered on poor performance. I have always maintained meticulously, fully cleaned, washed filters, etc. with good intentions. It had no effect/improvement. I've always wanted a Dyson but wasn't sure if I wanted the big standard plug-in or try the flash drive version. I've been obsessively watching videos and reviews and decided that now that the battery life is decent, I'd give the Wireless Stick a try. WHAT IT OFFERS: The exact item I purchased is currently out of stock, but it was $100 less than prices on the Dyson website. It arrived new/unused in new packaging. However, there was a return label in the box and two more postage labels on the outside with different addresses. Everything was well packed, wrapped and safe. The V11 Torque Drive comes with a handheld vacuum, nozzle, high torque cleaning nozzle, power mini tool, combination tool, crevice tool, stubborn dirt brush and soft dusting tool. , charger/cable and docking station. Documents include a large binder with manual and warranty materials (including a QR code to help with quick registration) and a second document just for installation and dock/charger information. As you can see from the pictures the unboxing is a hassle and you end up with a bunch of cardboard that they tried to flatten. CHARGING: My device came to me with a 35% charge. I immediately plugged it in and fully charged it before using it. This averaged about 10% in 20-25 minutes and 100% was reached in about 3 hours (starting again at 35%). Dyson wants you to always have your device plugged into the charger when it's not in use, so it's a) always ready and b) allowing it to intelligently adjust charging based on your usage. I'm not sure what THAT means exactly. The LCD display is great - it lets you see what mode you're in, change it with the press of a button if needed, and show you the exact time remaining. DOCKING STATION: The docking station was easy to install and comes with good quality screws and drywall anchors. A spirit level and tape measure will give you good results (height from the floor is the highest number) or, as in my case, if you live in a very old, very crooked old house, mark how crooked your walls and floors are! It is designed to lift the vacuum cleaner off the floor completely. The lid snaps into place well (my lid was very stubborn to install but eventually snapped into place). There is a channel that holds the bent cable in place. The length of the cord is decent (after docking you have about 65 inches of cord to the plug. The plug is very large so I used an adapter to fit the socket on the side because I have storage compartments in the front. I HIGH RECOMMEND USING A SURGE ARRESTOR There are 2 accessory mounts on the bottom of the docking station The motorized mini nozzle does not fit next to other accessories so you will likely need more storage space The high torque head has no light but works great (especially on rugs/rugs). It's easy to remove the brush roller and clean it completely. While I liked it, the shark heads had a groove on the roller that allowed me to slide nail scissors and trim hair/cord/etc that had been caught , this brush roller captures a minimal amount of hair/thread and they come off instantly. The rotation of the head is much more nimble , firmer and more comfortable than any 1st vacuum I've ever used and rotates with MINIMAL effort / hand movement to guide. essive how strong it sucks, especially around the edges and corners. He collected things that had been on/under the stucco since I moved in. I thoroughly cleaned my whole house (floors, furniture, dust, trim, cobwebs, etc. things that had never happened before. The photo showing a canister full of white and gray dog hair was what I got from my tiny upstairs (office/bedroom/steps) carpeted less than 36 hours after I used my Shark). I didn't have to use the Boost mode, I used the Eco and Med/Auto modes exclusively and only used the Boost with the fine cleaner and motorized nozzle on the bath mats. This high-torque nozzle isn't ideal on hard surfaces, there were only occasional bumps, but it took multiple passes on a few occasions. tiles and wood). THIS HEAD IS AMAZING. Unfortunately, it's only included in the V11 Absolute bundle, which isn't currently available in the US. I will be using this head a lot more than the High Torque Cleaner head in general. It worked well in all modes, picking up debris big and small, hard and soft with ease without scattering, right from the first pass! I bought this as a V7 Soft Roller Head compatible with V7-V11. It's almost identical (and cheaper) than the newer versions, only missing the nice bumper finish on the rear edge. Power mini tool ideal for furniture and stairs. It made climbing the stairs so easy. Like the main heads, it has impressive suction power, brings things to the edge and is easy to manoeuvre. I connect it directly to the vacuum cleaner itself, but it can also be used with a nozzle, it's just easier for me to work without a nozzle. The combo tool is fine, it has the same bristles just a different shape than the soft tip. It's handy for cleaning under furniture and in the car, but what I think is the most important accessory (flexible extension hose) I'd take with me instead of this tool anytime I should! The soft mini dust brush is good for cleaning (especially with the magic extension hose!) but expect to use the Med/Boost mode with it a lot and the stubborn/sticky dust will leave a trail that needs to be wiped away. cleaned up. I ONLY use this with the extension hose, which makes dusting really fun/enjoyable). The tough dirt brush has sharp bristles but are not stiff enough to withstand vigorous scrubbing/brushing. They're more effective on dirt than a soft dusting brush, but I would only use them on superficial, loose/dry dirt/debris and use a wet spot cleaner for anything really ingrained or deep. The crevice tool is ideal for small spaces. and edges, but other than in-car use, the cleaning heads handle edges so well that I don't expect to use this tool much (it's also very short, so the MAGIC extension hose attachment makes it more versatile, but expect it not to get between the wall and the fridge etc as it is a very short/tiny contraption The wand storage clip is nicely designed and has a soft finish to protect your wand but I actually use it I don't have a separate 5 slot accessory organizer (which is still not enough) and because this vacuum is so light and portable I grab it and what I'm going to use for the moment and I'm off .amazon.com/gp/product /B07B7PM4BT/ref =ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Above is a MUST IF YOU HAVE HARD FLOORS See my separate review/video /gp/product/B07W5X6JNN/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_t itle_o05_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 In my opinion the most important tool/attachment/adapter! Attach any accessory to it to bend 360 degrees to reach everything without bending down. See my separate review and video. DYSON V7 and above Quick Release Up Top Adapter Tool: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07D1R39S7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 A handy but simple 4 corner trick nozzle to use with your pole and reach the desired brush attachment high. Allows you to use a 90 to 180 degree angle (so a straight extension gives you about 8 inches of extension from your wand). Note that the shape of this unit means it can be difficult when vacuuming over ledges near the ceiling, you may need to adjust the angle for the gap. Detachable FULLCLEAN accessory holder: https://www.amazon.com/gp /product/B07MF1DP1Q/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Features 5 attachment points for any snap-on tool or accessory. Each mount rotates 360+ degrees and sits on a rotating disc with a Phillips head screw. You can detach the ones you want and install them alternately to fit the tools (everything on one side didn't allow the mechanized mini tool to fit with 4 other tools). This organizer was inexpensive and the tools sure fit. My only issue is that they are very close to the wall so it's difficult to unclip them by hand, so I basically just plug the tools in without snapping them in place. The plastic isn't the strongest so DO NOT overtighten when attaching to the wall or the plastic will break. Use a spirit level and a drill and be careful when tightening. It comes with drywall screws and anchors, I used my own. USE: You really can clean anything and everything without worrying about charging (at least I could, considering I don't have a lot of square feet, but I've done A LOT). It never went below 30% with 4 different attachments, all 3 modes were used (4 if you turn on Auto). I'm not afraid to regret not buying a big wired thing, this machine has too many benefits. Attaching things is easy, emptying the canister is really nice (two steps - slide the red one to open the lid and squeeze out the dirt, then slide it back to slide the canister back in and the lid has to come off be snapped into place by hand). I assume that in a very large house or perhaps with large or many very furry, heavily haired dogs you will need to empty it multiple times over a long period of time. when I'm done. I've had 5 surgeries on my dominant hand/hand/wrist and while I can do almost anything, I have slight imperfections in finger extension and random odd things sometimes tire my hand. Regardless, this vacuum was comfortable, I didn't mind the weight or having to hold down the button while using it. You don't have to fight against rollback, and the suction is smooth forward or backward. ADVANTAGES: Pretty much everything AGAINST: * Price (although it goes down over time and if it lasts many years, it pays for itself compared to buying 150-250 vacuums new every few years * Quality issues: my very first tinkering A vacuum led to long ones Scratches/grazes when removing the copper coating from the wand This happened when I was vacuuming under my IKEA fabric sofa The underside of the sofa and its chaise longue are fabric chipboard and wood superficially (not just the outermost layer of paint) Even within the first 10 minutes of vacuuming the entire top of the torque drive head is covered in opaque scuffs/scratches (won't smear them!) the plastic vent fins were broken and sticking out.I glued them in place as best I could and applied a little amount of glue I can't imagine the size of the hole that would go through them if with normal use of the Sta would hit something at exactly the right height. The plastic weakness and damage that occurs within minutes of normal use is largely unacceptable. I think that should impress someone, if you're worried about a used device being listed/priced as brand new, don't worry, you can easily tell if someone has used it for even a few seconds. . I will continue to update any changes/mods over time. Update 10/2020: After using it for over 7 months and noticing filter discoloration, I can't believe there was never a notification telling me to clean the filters. I feel like my reminders/notifications are completely broken. The solution is to just tell Alexa or set a reminder on my phone at least once a month, but I had to report it as you can't rely on the vacuum to obviously recognize you. Cleaning after each use still causes some problems. Tiny carpet rollers and hard floor nozzles are completely clogged with pet hair, making it almost impossible to get them out. He starts struggling/pulling sideways from the worst side even after spending about 20 minutes with a needle, nail scissors and other things to try to cut/remove the hair around the little wheel axis /unroll. DOES ANYONE have any advice for this? They facilitate access to the interior and to the roller, but not to the wheels! My hardwood floor nozzle squirts larger crumbs off my dog's pig snouts, I just have to push it slower and use the highest vacuum setting. In general, the honeymoon period is over. I hope it lasts long enough to justify the price. It still works way better than any shark or bissell I've ever had, but the cosmetic damage and general cheap plastic feel (most notable as baits are getting a bit difficult/sticky and clearing lately), increased spread, no filter reminder etc are all disappointing. Charging port, time and function remain stable and acceptable. The standard carpet nozzle is excellent and picks up an amazing amount of dog hair every time, even though I vacuum 3 times a week.
