Silent and gives off good heat, but somewhat precarious

So first off, the good stuff:• Great portability. It's only about 5-6 lbs, and the handle on top is convenient (note, the handle doesn't move).• Gets hot and toasty. No issues with warmth here.• Super simple and easy to use. There are only 2 knobs, and they are fairly self-explanatory.• Very silent. It's not a fan-type heater, so there's no air blowing out, which means it is practically silent. And now, the not-so-good:• The product listing has a picture of a baby literally touching the surface of the heater. I understand that it's trying to demonstrate the "anti-scalding" net, but this heater does get hot, and it is absolutely NOT safe for a baby to get that close to this product (note: I have a baby).• There's another picture of a dog attempting to tip the heater over. Again, I know the picture is to demonstrate a tipping-protection feature, but I would absolutely not allow my dog to get close to this thing.• Related to the other points I mentioned, the heater comes packaged with a metal bar contraption that is supposed to serve somewhat of a safety device (so people don't accidentally touch the heater while it's on). Obviously, this does not help at all with small children or pets.• Lastly, I would not place this item near upholstery or lie it on carpets/rugs. In fact, it feels a bit unsafe to keep it on my wooden floors as well. I think it would work best on tile or on top of a non-wooden platform. Again, some of the products pictures suggest otherwise, and personally, that feels irresponsible. So in general, it's an "effective" heater because it works well, but for someone with my circumstances (i.e., parent of small toddler and dog, living with all wooden or carpeted floors) its uses are somewhat limited to very specific situations.

Pros
  • It is suitable for use both indoors and outdoors
Cons
  • The heater emits harmful gases
