Switched my old Denon to Yamaha and thought I would give it a try. yamaha returned after 3 months of torment with a bad hdmi controller and other problems and such a boring audio stale soulless. Have this Denon and it is just an amazing upgrade from my fond memories of my previous Denon. Great bass that's part of Denon's sonic soul, the sound effects are punchy and snappy, just the way you want them. Vocals, personally I would manually set the center speaker to boost a little more than what the Audessy is set to. The only downside is that apps like Netfilx, Hulu, Disney+ etc. and most Samsung TVs, Vizio still have a handshaking issue from time to time where you can lose the audio for a split second . This is an eArc issue, even with HDMI 2.1. A firmware update will likely be released to fix this.
