Approximately annoyance or distraction from the tank. I will say that the reading instructions are a bit confusingly worded at first. Basically, the water temperature is green. If you don't see green, it means one of two things. Or your water temperature is so out of range that it is not displayed. In this case the WAY is too cold or too hot. Or the temperature is what's between the yellow-brown and blue lines. Will definitely buy another one when I upgrade my tank.
