This is great for phones and tablets anyway. I love having a spot for my phone where my kid can see it and watch Netflix on long car rides and it needs to be out of reach so it doesn't mess up my phone or block me! I wish I didn't have to remove the case for it to work, the part that holds the device should allow cases to be used as not all cases are as easy to remove and put on as my Otterbox case. Saved me from having to play the movie over and over again because my little one couldn't reach it! If the device is too heavy it will fold on its own and my phone will keep moving down even when tightened to stop it without breaking this part.
