It felt light and cheap when first used, but it is very well made and the battery lasts much longer than an unbranded arc lighter of the same size with the same high ratings. It lights my cigarettes very well in almost any condition and is mostly handy for that. The design is not suitable for use in tubes or non-conical candles. I can light an accelerator (like fire paste or charcoal starter) or a kindling bag easily, but not old-fashioned tinder without a little work. The battery life is pretty amazing, it hasn't died for me yet, but the arcs seem to be fading. Just a guess, but I'd say you can fire at least 3 packs from a single charge, possibly more if you fire fast. Surprised it doesn't light up while charging, but I think it's a good reason to get a backup. The LED is very dim but it's nice at times, just enough to see where you're going at night or working on something on your lap, but that's about it.
