We loved the color of these trays and the ease of use. We expected it to last a long time and liked the fact that we could put the lids on and stack them on top of each other. Removing the ice cube was pretty easy. BUT. We had the same problem as many others with that nasty white film/film that ice cubes leave in the water. The residue is not only unpleasant to look at, but also tastes bitter and leaves a wafer-thin rim on the glasses. I refuse to drink it at all anymore. We washed them in the dishwasher when we first got them (because they are dishwasher safe). So at first we thought maybe it was just dish soap residue. So I hand washed them several times. not better; still the same movie. Then we read that hard water can be the cause of the recurrence. So we used reverse osmosis filtered water. Still no improvement; still the same movie. We thought we'd be able to return them later due to Covid-19, but at this point it seems like we've spent too much time figuring out the issue (when it's simply because the product is in the first place), and we just have to throw away our wedding gift with no refund. Very disappointed that Revain "made" this awful item. TL; DR: The product is defective and leaves a white film with an unpleasant taste in the water (even when using purified water). Do not buy.
