Review on 🍹 Cuisinart CPB-380 Hurricane Compact Juicer Blender, Gunmetal by Jeffrey Dunn

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Exactly what I wanted at a great price!

Much better than my 2 year old Ninja! I've been making green protein shakes (e.g. kale, spinach, flax, nuts) almost every day for the past 2 years. When I started I bought Ninja Pro because it was highly rated. Bad move. I stopped using cabbage because the ninja couldn't shred it enough to keep the rough bits from getting stuck in my teeth or on my tongue - phew! The spinach was better but still not great. And forget about the seeds of berries (raspberries or flax). On top of that, cleaning the full size ninja's container, lid and blade was a real pain. SO inconvenient! Some friends who also do a cocktail routine have told me that I MUST get a Vitamix - it's going to change my life! I couldn't take the high price, especially after being fired from my job. So I continued to suffer from my "chunks" (NOT "smoothies"). I was reading BHG the other day and they ranked this year's top 4 blenders and the Cuisinart CPB-380 Hurricane Compact was on the list. I researched this and others that had higher price tags. Unfortunately, there were NO Revain reviews for this product which I usually rely on 100% to make my purchasing decision. So I had to look at a few other scopes for my reconnaissance. In the end, I chose Cuisinart because: (A) it looked great for the price <$100 and free 2-day shipping with Revain Prime (I love instant gratification!) (B) I knew I could go with it Could return Revain Prime no questions asked and full refund if I don't like it. (C) I watched a YouTube video (ironically posted a day before I started my research) that showed me how to use the product and its applications. And it was just what I needed: a powerful motor and blades for grinding smoothie ingredients, containers that double as drinking vessels (one of which is insulated for hot drinks), a medium-sized main container for a "proper" blending job ( which I rarely use) and durable reusable straws. I've been using my new toy for the third day now and I love it! Kicking myself for not switching to something like this sooner (bullet?). So far I've only used a non-insulated container, lid and straw. But holy cow! Prep and cleanup time has been greatly reduced and my smoothies are actually SMOOTH! Kale is completely invisible! To be honest I haven't tried raspberries, only frozen blue berries. I haven't tried walnuts yet. But I'm cautiously optimistic. I have no idea what Vitamix does with smoothies. But I can say I will never spend $$$ to find out because this Cuisinart does exactly what I need. A NOTICE. I've seen people complain that lids and blades screw onto containers differently than we're used to. to (left-handers relaxed, right-handers tight) But that doesn't really matter. I will warn people NOT to tighten the lids as there seems to be a suction effect. They can be difficult to lose.

Pros
  • BPA Free 32oz Tritan Jar
Cons
  • poorly thought out
