After getting an Apple Thunderbolt Display to use with my Mac at work, I was disappointed to find that USB devices plugged into the USB ports of the Thunderbolt display were plugged in, as was both the Apple mouse and keyboard stopping interacting with the Mac after the display was disconnected and then reconnected. Since I leave my desk several times a day and then come back, this was not an acceptable situation. Searching forums and other sources of information on the internet I have come to the conclusion that there is no good solution to this problem other than buying a third party powered USB hub. After looking at various third-party USB hubs, I settled on this one. Has been working flawlessly for two months. No complaints, I recommend the product.
