As with most backpacks, the zipper is in two parts, allowing the zipper to be unzipped or unzipped in either direction. The zipper has broken 3 times. The first time it only went sideways and I was able to fix it. 2, and once the half of the zipper was fully unzipped, the zipper could only be closed in one direction. Yesterday the second half of the blitz started. I was able to fix it and put the zipper back on, but it's a very fragile device and I don't expect it to last long. I am very disappointed because it is very cute and my son loves it.
