When I bought my 2013 Forester I didn't realize the cable was broken/cut. After a few months I decided it was time to replace it before I lost the cap. There are a number of gas caps out there, many claiming to fit just like the original. I've read several reviews of 'fake' ones that people have bought only to find they don't fit properly. I don't know about everyone else, but this is one of the parts I want to get 100% right. Now I like to save money like everyone else, but when it comes to safety, do yourself a favor and stick with genuine OEM parts. Of course they will probably cost more, but you get what you pay for.
