Review on πŸ“ High-Precision AngleCube Bevel Digital Level by iGaging by Christopher Jackson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Ideal for sharpening knives.

Note: This also works great if you are having trouble getting a good spirit level see http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002YDMGT4/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_18I. I'm short so if I don't keep it where it's easy to see I just put it on top to get a straight line. This is the same brand that some websites suggest for use with the Edge Pro knife sharpener. Do not use this with "Stop Collar" available on other sites. Instead I do the following: 1. Install the stone and let it rest on the edge of the sanding pad.2. Place the cube on the table and reset it (level key)3. Carefully balance the corner cube on the blade rest just in front of the handle (you don't have to be THAT careful, it's almost as big as the cube itself)4. Adjust the sharpening angle until you reach the desired angle.5. Do this every time you change the stone. Yes, you will be off by fractions of a degree depending on how far you hold the blade from the sharpening table, but you will be off by the same fraction of a degree on every stone. So if you want to do math you can sharpen to 15.85 degrees (draw that number from my @$$) to get 16 degrees on the blade you want, but full precision is important to me, not absolute accuracy.

Pros
  • Heavy Duty Construction
Cons
  • Without Automatic Control
