I had a shorter purple folding stool that my husband hated because it was purple. He wanted me to find a nice piece of wood that wasn't such an eyesore, but it was too expensive for me. This one is nicer to look at. I keep it in the bottom cabinet when I'm not using it (if I'm thinking of putting it upstairs). It works as expected but closes quickly! So watch your fingers. I wouldn't let you kids play with them, they can very easily end up with a pinched finger. I have made! But it only took me once to watch my fingers.
