I was hoping that these socks would be useful in keeping my feet warm this winter. Received them, charged the batteries and put them on. On first attempt the heating was completely inadequate, charged the batteries again (the red light on the battery came on automatically this time when I charged them) and after that there was noticeable heating occurring on high on the top of the foot. Not sure whether the heating will be adequate to keep my feet adequately warm through the cold weather months. The use of a ceramic heater at foot level may still be necessary (and cost is similar).
