I purchased these shoes especially due to the elastic band feature at the instep. I wear orthotic inserts, and often I find that when I wear them in certain dress shoes my feet do not fit well, especially around the instep - too tight. But these shoes are perfect, and so far they have worn well. I recommend highly!
