I was initially impressed with these key rings until I fiddled with the split rings to put them together. Putting the split ring in the right place is a lot of work. It's probably not that bad once you get used to the right angle and pressure. In the pocket were several hooks without swivels. That's enough to keep a few shortcomings from turning into a big problem. Snap hooks work well and key rings are easy enough to use. I tested a key ring and it came open with about 15 pounds of force. I don't expect keychains to weigh 15 pounds, so that's acceptable. It took about 40 pounds of force to break one of the carabiners. They are definitely strong enough for keychains and keychains.
