I've always liked the collar design, but this product doesn't bolt tightly to the ball joint. Faulty design as the ball is much larger than the flare joint and no twisting of the vise will help. The clamp with the phone sagged under the slightest load. I kept the holder on the windshield all night, and the next day I found it on the ground. Item was returned less than 24 hours after delivery. UPDATE: The company contacted me and sent me a replacement. The suction is definitely different and has some sort of adhesive that holds the suction to the windshield. To be honest I'm not sure I can physically pry it off the windshield due to the strong adhesive. The swirl looks a little different. At least the connection doesn't sag, but it's still not tight enough to hold the phone in place when touched. Definitely a huge improvement over my original purchase, but there are still some minor flaws. UPDATE 2: Even after 6 months, the ball head has not failed when it was replaced. Poor design where the nest doesn't stay tight enough to stay upright. Even if I tighten it while driving, my phone freezes after 20 minutes. I only gave it 2 stars because the company contacted and sent a free replacement after my refund, but ultimately the product is still faulty.
