I was looking for a stainless steel shaving soap dish with a lid that would fit my shaving stand and other bathroom accessories. The stainless steel finish on this bowl is very nice, but the lid leaves a lot to be desired. First, the lid doesn't fit well on the bowl. Metal embossing does not match the shell shape. It's as if the lid and bowl were designed independently. This results in an ill-fitting lid that reduces the usefulness of this product. Forget using it as a travel accessory. The lid won't hold anything unless you use rubber bands or tape to hold it in place. Even if there is moisture in the bowl, it will leak out and ruin things. But if you need a braid or a braid with an accessory, you ruin the elegance of the accessory. The lid rattles and wobbles when I put it on the bowl. It just doesn't serve its purpose. Unless you have another purpose for a well-polished stainless steel bowl, I would skip this one. If you decide to change the purpose of the bowl, you can do it without the lid.
