I have had Cateye wired bike computers for many years now. Although there are many wireless devices on the market, I haven't had any luck with them. I want wires for more reliability. This device provides all the information I need with a simple one button interface. Time will tell if the computer has the reliability a mountain bike computer needs, but I'm sure it will suit my riding style. The device has two measurements that my other coils don't have - calories and carbon offset. I'm not sure how accurately calories can be calculated if you haven't entered your body weight. It should take on a standard weight, probably less than my weight, so that number doesn't really matter to me. The carbon compensating joint is interesting - seems like it would come in handy if you were using your bike for cycling rather than riding. But when we ride for exercise and pleasure, what exactly are we compensating for? I am very happy with this computer, I intend to drive many kilometers with it.
