Review on πŸ”§ Dremel 8220 1-28 12V Cordless Rotary Tool by Kelly Noonan

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The cordless beast of the Dremel range! Very impressive!

I bought this Dremel 8220 after buying the 8050 to trim our dog's nails but I needed a more powerful Dremel for other chores around the house. I knew I needed a cordless Dremel and settled on the 12 volt Dremel 8220. My first impression was that it was slightly larger and heavier than the 8050. After charging the battery and turning it on, I knew it was a beast! I used it to cut off some hard plastic toilet valves (and replaced them with SharkBite compression valves) and it cut them through with no problem. I was very impressed with the power and capability of this Dremel. I'm just thinking of all the things I can do around the house now that I have this! Some advantages of this model: 1. Wireless power supply! 2. Separate 12V battery and charger in case you need extra batteries. This is a quick charge of the battery that takes about 1 hour3. Separate circuit breaker and variable speed switch. Variable from 5-30k.4. EZ swivel lock (no need to carry a wrench)5. Unlike some smaller models, all of the Dremel6's accessories can be used. Practical storage case for 8220 and many other accessories. All in all, I plan to use this Dremel a lot around the house. I've attached a picture of the 8220 next to my Micro 8050 for size comparison. It was the same price as the junior model. If you're thinking about using a Dremel for anything other than very light use, I recommend using a larger model.
