I'm surprised at how well made this is for the price! We've had battery-operated camping fans in the past, but this is much more powerful and more versatile than any of them. It has 3 fan speeds, and at the highest creates a lot more wind than seems probably from such a tiny machine. It also has a little LED light inside, which has 3 different levels too - from "nice & bright" to "nightlight." Both the fan speed & light levels operate via small buttons on the stand, which are slightly more complicated to operate if it's hanging from the integrated hook, but worth the small amount of effort!Based on the photo, I thought it could *only* be hung from a hook, but there are lots of ways to set it up. The base is as wide as the fan itself, & feels substantial once the (LARGE) rechargeable batteries are inserted, so it can sit steadily on a desk, table, or shelf without taking up much space or wobbling. The hook folds flat into the base, and when you unfold it feels very thick & sturdy, capable of hanging the fan upside down wherever you need it. And, there are picture-hanger holes integrated into the base as well, if you'd like to hang it directly on a wall. Once set where you want it, the fan swivels in 360 degrees (not on its own, you have to pose it) and can be pointed in any direction you need. For me, I'm hanging it on a hook on my patio, pointed straight down at the furniture so I can relax out there in the summertime without cooking myself to death! It can be operated 3 ways: wirelessly with just the rechargeable batteries inside; without batteries & connected via USB (cord included) to any powered device; or with batteries AND plugged in via USB so it can operate & charge at the same time. There is a little space at the back where you can stick a small square sponge (2 included) & blow some scent around.the instructions also say you can fill a sponge with ice water but so far I can't get it to act quite like a mister. I'll keep tinkering with this to see if I can get it to sprinkle droplets on me in the summertime, but it really doesn't seem to be built quite like that. But the spot where you put the sponge does not interfere with any electronics so it will be safe to do some experimenting!REALLY like this thing, it's going to be such a big help in the summer!
