I'm so glad to buy a small rice cooker because I cook rice entirely on the stovetop. When I first tried a rice cooker I used brown rice (I have a new variation of brown rice) and I followed a simple rice to water ratio and it came out perfect! However, like other reviewers, I noticed a puddle underneath, and there's also a lot of water splashing onto the lid, making it a puddle. Luckily, the puddle on the bottom of the device doesn't come from a piece of electronics, but from a not-so-good seal. I see water leaking from the area where the locking hinge runs. You need to upgrade the seals to trap the liquid. Also, they really should add a small mesh screen to reduce water splashing out of the top vent. It says don't block it, but there's really no other option than covering the vent lightly with a paper towel. It's a great cooker and I tried the omelette and will try other dishes as well. But I'm not 100% sure it will stay in my kitchen. Also, I tried closing the lid with some force and then fixing the hinges, but the water leak persists. It's not very non-stick. Even the rice or omelette recipe he suggests from the instructions remains baked on eggs. Twice (Saturday and Sunday) I had to soak the bowl in hot soapy water and scrub it gently with a sponge. I ended up using my nails to clean it in water. Update August 10, 2019 - Okay, I officially despise that damn rice cooker. I tried again the egg omelet recipe he gave in the instructions and it didn't burn. I've been soaking it in hot soapy water since 8:45am. It is now 19:10. It makes jasmine rice great that's still bubbly with brown rice. But yeah, it's too annoying. Will go in the trash. I'm even ashamed to give it to Goodwill. They'll probably throw it back at me and smack me in the forehead! Just rubbish!
