I bought 3 of these, 1 from petsmart and 2 from amazon. I'm torn about this product because it has great pros and cons. On the plus side, most bettas like to rest and sleep about an inch and a half to two inches below the surface of the water. (Make sure you have a lid on your aquarium because using this liner in a small and open tank isn't good for fish anyway, but they can also climb onto the liner and jump out very easily. Water ! ) Anyway, bettas like them and the product has great design. The plastic holds up decently, but this product rusts so easily. There is a metal stick in the middle that holds the shape of the product. They are also great for older fish that are having a harder time getting to the surface or staying there to breathe air and need them as a resting place. The big minus is the rust of the metal. The first one I bought, after about 3-4 weeks in the water, I noticed rust under the blade. Another time it only lasted a week or so and the third and last time I returned recently it arrived already rusty! Rust is dangerous and toxic to fish. So if I didn't keep an eye on it with frequent water changes I wouldn't know and if it spreads it could poison my betta. Bettas love it though, so I suggest either buying a new one every month as a spare, or getting a different brand that doesn't have a metal center stick and is made of a different material.
