I bought these bulbs to use in my garage. Initially I was thinking about installing LED tubes but when I came across this product I decided to give it a try. The light is very bright and the four "wings" help direct the light. 5 stars for the light output. The lantern as shipped comes in two parts: the lantern itself and a removable 4" socket extension. After installation I had to remove the light for a minute and when I unscrewed the light the socket extender fell apart. Carefully remove the socket extender base from the ceramic ceiling light.I'm fairly familiar with electricity so this wasn't difficult for me but for some it might be stressful as you have to unscrew the bare metal base.from an electrical appliance.I looked at the extension cord and the problem is clear they have a metal base that is crimped onto a plastic extension cord the extension cord came loose too the good news is I don't need an extension cord in my garage so the light was back on straight away actually I prefer a lightbulb without an extension cord for us not in the garage.The bad news is that the lamp itself uses the same construction (metal base crimped with plastic) so it probably faces the same problem. I suggest being very careful when screwing or unscrewing the headlights. Despite the flaws, I plan to order additional headlights as the performance and value proposition suits me. The only other consideration for me is lamp life. I will update this review if I have any backlight issues during use.
