Ironing on the ribbon provided was easy, or you can purchase any satin ribbon in the color of your choice or just iron it directly onto your dress fabric (if you can iron your dress fabric). The only problem is that the glue is a narrow strip that runs through the center of the wing. I felt like I had to pin and thread the belt to the tape at the ends and at a few points in the middle to make sure it stayed secure throughout the evening. I would feel better if the entire back of the sash was glue.
