This is not ABS

This is not ABS. I bought these sheets to build a box to house custom electronic components for a project I'm working on. I cut and shaped my parts and prepped the surfaces with sandpaper and a light dish soap to get acetone for adhesion. The parts didn't hold together. I cut small pieces of material weighing about 50 grams and placed them in a glass jar with 50ml acetone, expecting that the result would be ABS glue. After 24 hours in acetone there was no discoloration and all pieces of material retained their shape. I heated the solution over a burner for about a minute until the acetone boiled. I stirred it and put the lid back on the jar. After a further 24 hours, no change in the acetone or the so-called abs. I've tried other joining methods, JB welding, two-part epoxy, superglue, but it held the material together with any stability or strength. If you need abs don't buy this and I would be very wary of buying a similar product from Revain claiming to be abs.
