This steamer has changed my life. Keeping my family of 7 clean and wrinkle free was a chore with an iron. Travel and dependency on hotel irons or nothing at all was not optimal. I bought this steamer for a trip abroad but also started using it at home. It's such a time saver. It works with almost all pleats and fabrics. It heats up quickly, which is very convenient when you need to steam a large number of things. The on/off switch is in a convenient position if I need to pause during use. The tank is big enough to last a long time. I can usually get more than one outfit from a tank, but even when I need to fill up, it's very quick. I've had very few problems spitting out hot water. I just didn't fill it all the way, leaving maybe half an inch empty from the fill line. It spat at times, but I found it wasn't much of a problem if I held it at the right angle or moved more slowly. Obviously this doesn't give a crisp finish but does make the clothes look good enough. Much quicker than ironing, and since I've used starch to smooth out wrinkles, life without the burns and stains that can remain is a plus. I was heartbroken when it started leaking lots of hot water out the back at the bottom of the handle (probably through the plug hole). I do not think it is a defective product. I think it was dropped and then it probably ripped. I don't actually see an obvious tear, but water is now flowing down the seams of the outer shell. Damn. So it's not as durable as I seem to need it to be, but it works even with a significant leak. It's probably not safe, so it's time to go. I liked this steamer so much that I ordered a new one. If this doesn't have a similar leak, I know it was user error. Otherwise great experience.
