Our master bathroom is quite narrow. Of course, there is a small and weak built-in fan above the shower, but it's not very effective in removing the steam and moisture that accumulates during the shower. Result? When you shower and dry off you feel like you need to shower again (TN in summer - sigh). So I tried to find a ceiling fan that would replace the existing ceiling light and be as close to the ceiling as possible (but still allow air to circulate). I think I found exactly what I was looking for in this fan from LCiWZ. I discovered it was available through the Vine program and with my dear husband's approval I ordered it. It arrives sealed in a box. In the box you will find the fan, the remote control, the mounting bracket, a small package with screws and anchors, cable connectors and a manual. After unpacking and checking that all the details were covered, I started reading the installation part of the manual. During my home ownership I have installed my fair share of ceiling fans and lights (with the wiring already in place). That would help me a lot, because I didn't think the instructions were that great. If you are inexperienced with this, it may be more of a challenge and you need help. I have attached a photo of the domed ceiling light I was planning to replace with this fan. And remember to follow all safety precautions when working with electricity. So I turned off the power in the bathroom and removed the old overhead light. I then took the fan bracket that came with the fan and used the existing holes in the "handy box" (the box that holds the wiring in the ceiling where the light was - I had to look for it). The bracket should fit most boxes. I fed the wire through a couple of holes in the bracket and then attached it to the box. In the next step I also used the existing light switch to power the fan. This is a simple switch that you will find in your home. However, this poses a small problem when using light and a fan. The light and fan have memory, so you can adjust them as you like with the remote control. Then when you use the remote again and turn it on, it will be as you left/set it up. If you use the light switch to turn the device on/off, the memory will be cleared and it will turn on with the default settings. At least that's how I read the instructions. Since the fan switch in my case also turns on the lights above the sinks, I have to use that for power. That is, unless I replace the wall switch with one that controls the overhead light and fan. Again, I'm going to use a wall switch to power the ceiling light and fan, and I'm going to use the remote to control the light and fan manually. for me since I installed it myself. It would be much easier with two people as one can hold the device while the other connects the wiring. Incidentally, this is a conventional three-wire structure. The wires are connected, and with sweat (and a few curses) I plugged in the fan and secured it to the bracket. It's time to restore power to the bathroom and check it out. When power was restored, I received the remote control. There was a bit of a disappointment here as the manufacturer doesn't include the required AAA batteries (you need two). I seem to have hundreds of AA batteries but no AAA. After searching numerous drawers and storage boxes, I finally found two. Hooray. Return to the bathroom where I flipped the switch on the wall. The fan light is on! Then I started playing with the remote control and found that all functions work perfectly. But the best part was the airflow. The fan has three speeds and they all worked great. The black part of the fan shroud can also be turned on and off independently to rotate and promote indoor air circulation. The remote control also regulates the type of lighting (warm, cold, bright) and the brightness. It also allows you to use timers (which I haven't tested and probably never will). The fan was also very quiet. PROS: 1. Close the ceiling mount.2. Various light and fan settings by remote control.3. Quiet (remember this is a subjective opinion as your definition of quiet may be very different from mine). Cons: 1. The manual is a bit vague.2. Batteries for the remote control are not included.3. The plastic opaque white light ring seen in the photos is quite flimsy/cheap. But it works fine. I installed this device literally a few hours ago. I showered with the fan running and the bathroom was quite comfortable. No wetness and humidity that made you feel the need for another shower. bliss! I can't comment on durability since it's new. But if anything happens that requires an update to this review, I will definitely do so. But right now I can't be happier with it.
