Review on πŸ”Š AIYIMA A05 TPA3221 Power Amplifier: 100W+100W Bluetooth QCC3034 APTX 2.0 HiFi Stereo Class D AMP for Passive Speaker by Jennifer Davis

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Not sure if I will buy a 100+100w model but nice little amp

so the amp comes with a 32v 5amp power supply what If you do some math it will show you that 32V x 5A = 160W! So it absolutely CANNOT generate 200W of continuous power. Often vendors of budget amps play technical games with "peak power", which often refers to DC, which is the peak voltage of a sine wave of audio, rather than RMS (AC) voltage, which is actually the power. However, in this case I believe they are simply misquoting the capabilities of the Texas Instruments TPA3221 amplifier chip (or whatever cheap Chinese clone they actually use). The TPA3221 is rated for 100W stereo power per channel or 200W mono. Now, with enough power supply capacity, it can reach 100W peak power for a loud song burst, but it can't support it. However, the amp performs exactly as I expected and is about the same price as others I've tested in the same frame size. I've only tested audio in ports as I don't need Bluetooth capability, so I can't comment on that.

Pros
  • home audio
Cons
  • infinitely sluggish
