I am addicted to smoothies - in fact my whole family is addicted and spend the equivalent of a Ventilatte for 3 at our local smoothie shop several times a week. One of my best college friends told me about the Vitamix and I never really thought about it since they were around $450 at the time. But ever since my family's obsession with smoothies cost us four figures over the course of about 6-8 months, I've thought about Vitamix again, especially since they're used in our smoothie shop. And then, on a lucky Saturday morning in October, I found out from Revain that a treasure truck had arrived in town with a fantastic discount on nothing short of a Vitamix blender. In the meantime, it has turned into a love affair with a kitchen appliance. And who can't be happy about a device with a SELF-CLEANING FUNCTION that actually does its job very well! As for its functionality, it is equipped with an incredibly powerful motor that crushes ice in no time. It's not as loud as I thought, which was a very pleasant surprise. I am very sensitive to noise and it is very tolerable, especially since it works so quickly. If you have a favorite recipe (and it comes with her book!) that you've devoured, it takes less than 2 minutes to mix a full jar of ingredients. This proved to be a very worthy investment and I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a powerful blender that won't burn out after making a dozen or so frozen drinks using ice. Definitely a great buy!
