Received this unit today. After a quick wash of the food contact surfaces and general wiping down (with a damp cloth) of the rest, I see the following (in order of increasing severity):** SELLER: Please share this information with your production department and your quality department (if you have one). **β’ Component casting defects β Raised indentations on "Aβ faces (top right corner of main body and bottom edge of control panel bezel) β Burrs (uncut fastener?) on timer knob β Flow lines around jar graduations (wet and ( or contaminated material? Molding parameters set incorrectly?) Apparently there is residue in or on the can, but there isn't; it's molded inside. While these are all primarily cosmetic issues, a company trying to present themselves as "above average" will never let it leave its factory (and needs to have a quality program robust enough to ensure it doesn't). the left side is flush with the surrounding areas (as it should be) and the right side protrudes (2mm at the top right radius and 1mm at the right edge), creating serious gaps (which are precisely that can affect cleaning or even allow liquid to seep into the main body which houses the motor and electrical components, i.e. potentially a very serious safety hazard in terms of electrocution and/or fire). This also gradually increases the distance between the bottom edge of the bezel and the main body from left to right, with a maximum value (at the bottom right corner) of 2.5mm. (All measurements were taken with a digital caliper/depth gauge.) Without taking the unit apart (which I don't intend to do), it's hard to tell if this is just a case of improper assembly, a manufacturing issue with the faceplate and/or case or a combination of all of these. (Note that applying moderate force to the bezel will not help ensure proper installation.) β’ A mechanical problem with potentially very serious safety implications. Something is rattling in the main body. I'm not sure if it's plastic or metal - but if it's metal it poses a very serious safety issue as it can cause a short circuit and in the worst case scenario a fire. If it is plastic, then this may indicate damage to the assembly, which can lead to premature failure of the device. In any case, for obvious reasons, nothing should be left dangling freely. Please refer to the attached photos which illustrate the issues described above.
