Yes, this thing is cheaply made and I don't expect it to last very long. BUT for $20 it's SO cool! My 2.5 year old kids love it. There are several different colors to choose from (including a warm glow option if the colors are too exciting for sleep). There is also a marine option if you are more into the sea. There is a small remote control that allows you to turn on and off, change colors, rotate and set a timer. AAA size batteries are required. The Globe allows for both plug-in and wireless options, but if you want to plug it in you'll need an adapter as it doesn't come with it (basically the same as for a cellphone). Although it comes with its own cable. Generally, even when it stops spinning, the light is still good. While I hope it lasts for $20, it was worth the joy it brought my daughter.
