I think I must have missed the part that was only for AC fridge freezer type systems. On one of my trips I had a leak in the core needed something like a low pressure quick release to make it work for me. It will just be one of those tools that I will pass down to my kids when I die as I doubt I will ever need to use it unless I install a mini split which is required for this type of service. I would recommend using gloves as I expect to end up trapping a small amount of freon as you unscrew the fitting to access the old one and insert the new one and if it slides it can seep into that chute, as there are some they play there. Of course, the leakage is much smaller than the assumed leakage, as was the case before using this tool. So again not for automotive use unless some sort of adapter is available, probably older R12 systems and I'm just selling my car which needs repairs as winter approaches.
