This does exactly what it's supposed to do, I love making veggie soup in big pots and although I bought a really nice big non stick pan my gas burner is on even the biggest die low setting gets hot in the center but leaves the sides on their own so I go back and stir. It is, and I'll admit I was a little unsure it would make that much of a difference, but when I looked at the jar lid, all the edges were prepared the same way as the center. Although it has a handle and stays relatively warm, I now use it handle down so you get better overall coverage. I'm glad I bought it, it's worth the money.
