I installed a display on the manual service disconnect box so I can read loads on my 6500w emergency generator. The screen is a bit blurry. Not as clear and legible as advertised images. You have to be close and at the right angle to see the numbers. The plastic clips that hold the device in place are very fragile! That's all I can say about the product as I haven't tested the display under generator load. In the photo I took, power to the display was "backed up" from my home's electrical panel (via a separate "backup generator" switch that I usually keep open), and the manual service shutoff was also open , so there was no load. . Therefore the display shows 245 volts but 0 amps. The instructions were written (or translated) by someone who appears to be using English as a fifth language. Very incomplete and lacking all but the most superficial references to security. For goodness sake, turn off all power lines to the lines where you are installing this device. and check the absence of electricity with a meter. Although the device is rated for 260V, the instructions assume you are using a two-wire cable (usually black = hot, white = neutral) as the power source, whatever your voltage. However, in the US, a 3-wire cable (black = hot, red = hot, white = neutral) supplies 240V power in your home. Each "hot" carries 120v with respect to neutral, and you get 240v across the two "hots". So. if this display is connected to a 240V power supply in 3 wire. Instead of connecting hot and neutral (black and white) to the display like you would with standard 120V wiring, skip the neutral connection and connect both hot (black and red). one hot on each of the two power connectors on the display. This is also ONE hotspot on EVERY power connection. DANGEROUS! If the wiring is 240V with a 3-wire cable. DO NOT connect both wires to the same terminal thinking that you will get 240v if you connect the two wires together or you must have another neutral terminal free. Connecting two hot ones will cause a short circuit!. and a big flash of light and probably a shutdown switch. in the best case. This can melt the wires, fry the display, or MUCH worse.
