complete failure. Instead, wrap your keyrings in aluminum foil. It's a real pain but it works

I bought two of these bags, one for my wife and one for me because they are so expensive. As a physicist with a PhD, I fully understand the Faraday effect. Well, after putting our key fobs in our pockets, our respective doors opened normally and our cars also started normally, as if there wasn't a Faraday bag in sight. What a total disappointment! I do not recommend this product error. I returned them both. Want something that really works? To use, wrap the keychain in aluminum foil, unfold the foil, and then re-wrap. It will cost you about a tenth of a cent. Not a few bucks. When my key fob turned on and I tried to start the car, I received an error message on the dash that said "key fob not recognized". Exactly what I wanted to see.
