Review on ๐Ÿ”ฅ Enhance Comfort and Efficiency with GM Genuine Parts 15-81101 Heating and Air Conditioning Blower Motor Kit by Anthony Cornelius

Revainrating 4 out of 5

This thing blows into the engine cooling and climate controls

replaced an OEM unit after a 45 minute operation (bluerectomy) to remove a dead, dare I say blown up engine. Unlike most aftermarket models, this one actually came with 6 screws to reinstall the lower half of the fan housing that was cut off. As mentioned, only 8 screws are required to get the job done. 2 additional screws are needed to replace the bottom cover. Apparently, these are magic propellers that only GM can get their hands on, assuming two more propellers would clearly bankrupt the company, and it doesn't look like the government would ever bail them out if that happened. Replacing a cobalt fan motor is an hour of pure bliss as you enjoy slicing through plastic cases, squeezing your rib cage against a rocker panel, occasionally squirming on the floor of a small car, all the while keeping the blades inches from your face to smash. Also, you will need a 5.5mm head screwdriver to install the magic screws. Luckily I had some 1/4" sheet metal screws to attach the bottom cover. lost, so I have many surviving screws from the boot's working sole in my tool bag. With any luck, this South Korean-made replacement blower will give me another 50,000 miles of service, just kidding, cobalt; This thing could be another year at best before something not worth replacing blows up. This isn't a car that lives up to its namesake; Chevy lead, Chevy tin, Chevy zinc, or perhaps Chevy bronze would be a more appropriate metal to describe the ubiquitous quality of this dodgy-designed GM econobox.
