I bought this case before a 3 month backpacking trip with the intention of getting one which would protect my laptop while traveling but also not take up a lot of space or be too heavy. I did a lot of research before settling on this case and it held up well during the trip. The spongy exterior helps protect from shock waves or bumps which for me was important since I carried it in my daypack most of the time and was constantly on buses, planes, etc.I was very happy with this case during my trip and I felt like it was a good purchase. So for that reason, I would say it did its job. However, a couple months after returning home and about 6 months after its initial purchase, the zipper broke. I would highly recommend this case for its durability and lightness, but not if you're looking for a case that will hold up for a long period of time.
