I have been buying Stanley products for many years and was very happy until I placed this order. I bought two of these so my wife and I have one at home and one in the garage, shop or wherever I work. I hope one of the two seems to be an aberration. The one I've used for projects doesn't have capture "tabs" at the end of the tab. I can't go 3 or 4 feet down the wall from the end I want to measure from before the tape falls off. If I measure the board horizontally, that's no problem. I've measured dozens of flat boards and had no trouble until I needed to measure a wall. The second tape measure is fine as it is done correctly. So I'm the lucky one with one error in a million, or Stanley failed quality control. When you buy one, check the corner of the end to make sure the grip tabs are in place. If they don't return it as soon as possible, otherwise you'll send it in the bin.
