Review on Eagleggo 4040 Replacement Humidifier Solenoid Valve for Aprilaire, Part No. B2015-S85, 24V, 2.3W, 60Hz by David Garnic

I noticed my humidifier stopped working because the water baffle inside was bone dry even with the knob turned all the way out. After testing the 24V adapter that powers the solenoid with a voltmeter, I saw that it does indeed provide power when the oven is turned on, so I figured it was a bad solenoid. I bought this item as well as the official Aprilaire. the brand device is about twice as expensive if it doesn't work. I turned off the water supply, unscrewed the old one and plugged this in and it immediately caught fire! The water ran out, there were no leaks! I cleaned everything up and decided to return the more expensive one. The only negative I would say is that the "click" you hear when you turn it on is a bit louder than the original, but that doesn't really bother me and doesn't need to be reduced in my opinion. Stars compared to my rating. I am very satisfied and can highly recommend this product. It comes with everything I need to replace the old one including a metal filter (versus the rubber filter my original had) which will probably last better in the long run. The swap is a simple and easy DIY project. , just a little messy with water but that's it! Whether you decide to do the swap yourself or hire someone, trust me, anyone can do it yourself and save yourself about a hundred bucks!
