Unfortunately we had to use the protection plan (which luckily I bought) after only 8 months because it started doing strange things. It would turn itself off. Sometimes it would bake or heat up perfectly and other times it would barely alarm things at the same setting. It was very uncomfortable. Although to be honest I don't think it was an accident. I just don't think it's very good. Edited: The protection plan I bought turned out to be useless. I applied several times and kept calling. I even tried calling Toshiba bcs, technically it's still under manufacturer warranty and nothing works. It got so disappointing! I just want my money back now! I bought a warranty on this large metal box that just takes up space in my house. It's annoying. Revain doesn't live up to the same standards they expect from third-party providers.
