I needed this universal dial indicator swivel for one of the many dial indicator sets that are used primarily on my mill. The pin/puff part has a slightly different geometry, making it very difficult to use for US measured 0.250" / 0.375" shaft diameters. If the shaft is placed separately in the clamp, it clamps very well, but it becomes very sensitive when both shaft diameters are mounted and tightened. I managed to do it initially by simply putting a washer between the knurled nut and sprag to increase the torque on the factory .250" shaft.") and the shaft to even it out with a knurled knob and without adding a tighten flat washer. The inner holes of the clamp must be cleaned of sharp edges that come in contact with the shaft before making a complete circle for the clamp. In this way you can add a flat washer, a washer that can restrict clearance and movement in certain requirements, or buy another brand? A lot of work for something so simple. Not scientific.
