I purposely bought mounts from Definitive Technology to avoid a headache, but it didn't help. The Definitive Technology ProMonitor 1000 speakers are quite heavy and these mounts are NOT really up to the task. I ripped out the drywall screw first - partly my fault, but the torque required to adequately tighten the fastener is significant, so you need VERY strong screws. After installation, the speaker continued to sag. Yes, the 1000 is heavy, but it's a Definitive Technology mount, so it should work. NO! I tried tightening the screw just enough to stop the slack and NO I broke the screw. WTF? I was able to replace the screw but I can't fix the sag problem. So my speakers are only LIGHTLY directed downwards, which is very annoying for an OCD installer like me. My advice: remember: the extra money spent on Definitive Technology brand mounts doesn't mean any fewer problems or headaches than other brands.
