I bought this because I needed a weather radio for hiking, but I've also found it useful and fun to have around the house. It has great sound for such a small speaker. It's compact and fits my hand well, has a flashlight and AM/FM/weather radio. I can put it in the sun and use it to charge my phone or Kindle. It also charges my devices indoors for a while, but charges longer when the solar panel is in the sun. I think it's good that the handle recharges the battery in an emergency. The crank was stronger than I expected. I like sitting outside in the sun, listening to the radio and charging my phone without using any energy source other than the sun!
