Review on Bridgestone Blizzak VRX 195/55 R16 87S winter by Jnis Griis ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A good quality product, I rate this purchase perfectly.

Auto Astra H GTC front wheel drive r16. Acquired for this winter, because. last winter I suffered with hankook winter i * pike - just the most disgusting rubber. I tried Velcro for the first time. I won't sit on spikes anymore. SILENCE! The conclusion was that a good Velcro is definitely better than spikes from a low / medium price category. Perhaps she will lose the hacky R, but given the difference in price by almost 2 times, I think it’s not so critical. Now for the fact. At near-zero temperatures, when there is no snow yet, and the asphalt is already frozen, it behaves perfectly. Reactions are slightly slower than on the summer Bridgestone Potenza, but in general, the behavior of the car is practically the same. Changing lanes at speeds up to 160 km / h, entering gentle turns - controlled movement without a hint of rear axle drift. In winter, I don’t drive faster than 120 on the highway and bypass roads in the city, but all overtaking with rebuilding through the snowy “parapet” running between the lanes occurs without problems, on the same hankuk I often had to catch a car, which made it scary to overtake, and I had to take much flatter trajectory when overtaking. Excellent rowing in the snow / porridge. I never got stuck, braking on icy asphalt is excellent, the ABS almost does not connect, I compare it with a hankook, it was also new, the ABS ALWAYS rattled there. I can paint a lot more, believe me, the tires are EXCELLENT, the price / quality is 100% Minus one, it is predictable, this is braking on bare ice and starting off into icy hills. If you stand in the middle of the hill on the handbrake, then at least from the second start, the rubber drags at first, but then it goes into axle box, if you take the slides on the go, there are zero problems. When braking on ice, abs is activated and the braking distance increases. Be prepared for this. But then again, what to compare, I had the experience of riding a hankook, on which there were no spikes left after 20.000 km of run. So in the second season, he did not slow down at all! So, this Velcro is objectively even on ICE BETTER than other SPIKES. Unfortunately, I didn’t drive on premium tires, then I can’t compare it with class standards.

Pros
  • excellent handling at positive temperatures strong sidewall price water resistance quiet excellent tread pattern, rows well in loose snow / slush excellent braking and no drift on icy pavement
Cons
  • braking, accelerating and starting off on a roadway covered with a layer of ice
