I'm a photographer and I love putting paper prints in my packages. I also make scrapbooks so I use a lot of photo paper as well as everyday use. I think this printer has done a great job (so far) with my photos; The colors appear the same in the photo as they do on my computer, which is very important to me. There were three things I did NOT like about this printer. The first is just.was.cumbersome! (Dots are for emphasis!) It looks like a typical printer-sized box. But to print anything, the screen has to be pulled out. away from the wall so it sits properly so I can't lean it against the wall. clumsy and imposing). must also be pulled out. When I type something, it's not really a box anymore, it's some weird cactus-like thing that I might stumble across as I'm walking by, especially since it can't be against a wall. This design is totally non-functional and I'm considering returning it for that reason alone. The second problem I have is that the printer doesn't turn on automatically when it receives a job; you have to wake him up yourself. It decides when to go to sleep, and there's no way to set the time it takes to fall asleep. The third problem I have is how invasive the software required for this printer is. Unless you go through the settings and remove some of the software that is automatically downloaded to your computer, the images you print will be saved in a special little "cloud"! I don't need any more online cloud storage, thanks, I have an external hard drive and I don't need to spend money for additional cloud storage or Canon use my personal intellectual property for third party data collection. However, this is my personal issue with businesses, and while it deserves a mention, it's not directly related to how the printer actually works, and I understand that most people don't care. The price is good, it just isn't flimsy and will likely break easily unless it's in a closet somewhere or on its own shelf. If I had known that when I bought it, I probably would have picked a different one.
