THE BEST SIDE I'VE EVER USED - HANDS DOWN

If you're going to have rotator cuff or shoulder surgery, this sling is essential! It made my life so much better for the six weeks I had to wear it after my surgery. I can't say I've tried or tested other slings recently, but I've used a simple sling that goes around your neck. The design of the carrying strap of this shoulder-armpit sling was a stroke of genius on the part of the inventor. I never realized he was there. I didn't use a thigh pad as my surgeon said I didn't need one because my biceps tendon is fine and doesn't need repairs. I was a little nervous about the sling attaching my arm to my torso without that padding and strap around my body. However, the sling held my arm securely on my torso without the wrap belt. It's a bit confusing when you first put it on and I'll admit I used profanity to figure out what seemed like a puzzle. However, instructions and online videos help with understanding. After putting it on and taking it off once or twice, you quickly get the hang of it. Fastening and detaching the two clips is easy and convenient. I found the strap from the shoulder strap to the double clip strap was too long, but that may be due to not using the hip pad. I'm 6'1" and my arm is about 13" so I bought the big one. The strap portion was perfect for my arm and hand, but that front strap was too long. I couldn't tighten it enough. Interestingly, the nurse who fitted and adjusted the sling after my surgery (when I was still under anesthesia) removed the long front strap and attached the double strap directly to the two straps of the shoulder harness with a plastic loop. I would never have thought about it. While I cannot guarantee that your nurse will know the best way to apply this bandage for you, I would recommend that you take the bandage to the operating room and give it to the nurse. I assume they all know how to adjust it to suit your needs and your surgeon's advice. I had to buy it myself. I don't think there is any health insurance that covers this based on what I've been told. In my opinion, this was the best $114 I could spend on a comfortable and safe recovery from rotator cuff surgery. I have told everyone including my surgeon this is an amazing product! I recommend to anyone about to have rotator cuff or shoulder surgery NOT TO GO TO SURGERY WITHOUT THIS BANDAGE.
