I have a yarn bowl but it doesn't hold very large balls of yarn or cakes. So I decided to order this spindle. It works very well! In the video you can see how it spins back and forth freely in any direction. The small spindle on which the larger spindle turns is polished so that it slides almost smoothly. It's true that the yarn tends to get caught on the smaller spindle underneath, but I just took some cardboard from the shipping box and cut it to size. I wanted to poke a hole in the center and put it on a larger spindle for the yarn to sit. This effectively prevents the yarn from falling off. A simple solution to an annoying problem. I would buy it again and even give it to my knitting colleagues as gifts. I recommend this item for faster yarn flow. And I would also recommend you to buy a yarn winder.
