Excellent value for money and quality!

I really like this spinner. I've bought several over the years. They work very well for yarn cakes that you want to work on the outside (instead of center draw skeins). It turns relatively well considering it's wood on wood, so there's friction. No burrs, smooth. Will not stick to your yarn. Please note that the picture in the description may or may not be the color you will receive. I only got the standard light wood colors, not the greyish wood shown in the picture. I wish they had updated…

Pros
  • Designed to hold yarn and prevent it from falling to the ground while knitting or crocheting. No more confusion
Cons
  • threadbare

Poorly made but fixable

I bought this for $20 after seeing a handmade yarn holder at my local $40 yarn store and thought that I don't have to spend that much for a yarn holder. If I had to make it again I would just buy a handmade one. This is not the color shown on Revain. It's lighter and the wood looks cheap. It all seemed rough and prickly. You cannot use it this way as it will snag your yarn. I had to take it apart and go over it with 2000 grit sandpaper to make it super smooth, like homemade. It's a bit crooked,

Pros
  • When the yarn is in place, just pull while you knit or crochet
Cons
  • Very expensive

You will love it! Highly recommended.

I have a yarn bowl but it doesn't hold very large balls of yarn or cakes. So I decided to order this spindle. It works very well! In the video you can see how it spins back and forth freely in any direction. The small spindle on which the larger spindle turns is polished so that it slides almost smoothly. It's true that the yarn tends to get caught on the smaller spindle underneath, but I just took some cardboard from the shipping box and cut it to size. I wanted to poke a hole in the center…

Pros
  • Natural wood color
Cons
  • Small parts
