Review on VAIO I7 11375H Windows 3840X2160 Signature by Kyle Costello

I bought a 2010 Vaio Z model and was so happy with it I bought this 2021 i7 512GB model and I'm just as impressed. I'm not a businessman, just a retired civil engineer. I also have a Gigabyte Aero 15 laptop but wanted something lighter and smaller. When the Z arrived I was very impressed with its load times, which were as little as 9 seconds at times. What really surprised me was the ability to play games. Mass Effect 3 looks and runs great at 1600x900 at a smooth 60 fps. Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion from 2009 averages 80-90 fps at 2560x1440. It detects and displays the Iris Xe chip, but the HDR setting gives me a black screen, so I leave it on Bloom with maximum anti-aliasing at 8x, so be aware this laptop may not run HDR games. I never thought that this integrated Iris Xe GPU could handle games so well. In terms of video editing, I just installed Sony Vegas 14 and so far everything is working fine; Editing processing seems as fast as my large i7 laptop with a dedicated nVidia 1070 GPU. The keyboard backlight is excellent and the screen brightness is good, but it would be nice if it were brighter for outdoor use. The speakers are actually louder than my 15" Aero 15 laptop! Fans don't howl, they hiss at maximum speed. It doesn't bother me, the fans are very efficient at pushing air out, so like any other laptop, there's a certain amount of it Noise to be expected when propelling through the air at higher speeds.And while some reviewers have reported frame squeaks on pre-production models, I haven't experienced it.All in all I have no regrets about this fantastic laptop and hope it is as reliable as it is my 2010 Vaio Z. The price kept me on my toes until I snagged a $500 rebate on July 4. I'm pretty sure they'll put it up for sale again one day, so be patient.
